  • Project "Excalibur" finally going ahead (Max reconstruction/rewrite)

This has been rumoured for some time now, but finally it seems to be officially going ahead.
This is definately one to watch closely

I wonder how long this is going to take. I dont think it will be ready for Max 2012, maybe 2013?
    Kind Regards,

It's already started since 3ds Max 2010 I believe, and was supposed to take several releases, so we'll see...

They support virtualization through Parallels and such from what I know. Not sure if a native OS X port is in the works... there is one for AutoCAD though, so who knows...

As far as I see it's just marketing crap. Max development is stagnating.

I think you mean has stagnated. Doesn't stop them from coming out with a "new" version every year though that promises it will solve all of your problems.
