  • Is your Max2011 crashing when adding maps?

    Mine is!

Has anyone else seen this or know of a fix?

Whenever I try to add a map to a shader, Max 2011 (64bit on XPpro 64) will freeze or quit.

    Thanks or any input!

I know this won't help, but no, that doesn't happen here. also on max 2011 and xp pro 64.
does it crash with both mat editors? any material (mr, vray..)? any renderer?

We're using Max 2011 with XP64 here and we haven't seen any problems like that. We use the old Material Editor and the old style Material/Map Browser btw.

Sorry, not much help to you I know. Have you looked on The Area?

In Max 2009 I have been experiencing what you are, but intermittently. Except I get the feeling that it's the file browser is opening up in a different dimension so simply isn't accessible.

It seems to have been either a demo of Flatiron or the ColorCorrect plugin.

          Deleting them solved the problem.

            Hello Jeff,
FlatIron is not, or at least not in the scenes that are created with Vray. We have almost 75% users of FlatIron working with Vray as renderer, such issue never occured. FlatIron also does not have any special shader or so, it simply puts a standard bitmap in standard max or vray shader..
If you have still problems with it, you can send us the scene for debugging at info@3d-plugin.com
            thanks!
