  • win 7 file in use

is it just me, or has the occurrence of the bloody 'can't do shite because the file is in use' issue really escalated on win 7?
i've always hated this message. ok, so the file is in use, could you please tell me what process is using it and which computer, without me having to hack all around the place?

ofcourse, now the shite is corrupting backburner, several nodes can't write to output file because the shite is in use somewhere.

ofcourse i was depending on this render to go through during the weekend....breathe....breathe....go look for another job...

god dammit. i don't even know why i am posting here, i should probably go and vent somewhere else.

    sorry

Don't worry man! I know exactly how you feel.
My last weekend renders were nightmare too.

Everything else went fine, but all the elements was saved as 32 bit GRAYSCALE float tif. !?
At least I had good looking beauty pass.

haha, greyscale tif's, nothing like a bad render in the morning

thank god for rdp and logmein, at least then you can smell the shit when it hits the fan, and try to cleanup the mess as best you can

beats telling the client 'sorry mate, the render went fubar, but i've got these huge grey tif's for you'
