  • Which Quadro videocards equal to Geforce GTX 570/580 ??

From Nvidia website I can't understand if the new Quadros ( Quadro 6000/5000/4000/2000/600) share the tecnology of the new Geforce GTX 570/580.

    Anyone has more infos?

I'm collecting infos for a new pc at work and I'm searching for a configuration that should be used to do realtime previz in addition of the standard use (complete 3d creation content workflow).

    Thanks in advance.

    yay, i'm chiming in.
this is exactly what i am doing today, looking at new rigs for the office, it's been awhile since i looked into this sort of thing so any fresh tips would be greatly appreciated.
looking at the 580 GTX, what a monster, is it worth it? something more subtle wouldn't hurt, then there's the whole nvidia-quadro-adobe-gpu conspiracy thing, is the mercury player worth going quadro? i have a hacked gt295 now, it sort of works, but meh, what a mess

and then theres 2012 around the corner, with it's amazing viewport, according to this guy at least : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gz6bOU4JX1w
will a low end card do the job just fine in then?

To me it is simple. What are you trying to do?

Large data sets, lots of VRayRT or equivalent, then go with the Quadro cards. More memory and they definitely handle the larger data sets here very well.
If you work with smaller data sets, the GTX xxx will do just fine.

        Thanks for you reply.

I usually do previz of shops and I have large data set.
I'm oriented to Quadro as suggested by you but I'd like to know if the Quadros I've listed above share the tecnology of the new Geforce GTX xxx or not, if they are aligned with the last Geforce series.
