  • Scatter

Hi, I was wondering if anyone know of a simple scatterer like the one build into max, but that also supports map distribution, and also works outside the limit of 650000 objects that the max one have..
I also used particleflow to some success, but ParticleFlow also seem to stuggle with alot of objects..

I know about multiscatter and vray scatter.

I am trying to distribute a lot of small boxes on an object. I have actually finished the project that I needed this for, but I am asking this for future reference.

    -thanks

    Forest Pack

The free version might work for you. It is a good tool nonetheless and worth the purchase if you have a need of it.

Thanks for the tip, The free version had some limitations, but it could handle obscene amount of boxes..
It seemes that it only can use black and white images to distribute objects though (no gradients)..

Perhaps spline definitions would work better in this case rather than density maps so that you can use the falloff paramaters?

Have you checked out Advanced Painter? I don't think it supports map distribution, but you can paint the objects where you need them, it might work for you if you're not updating the map. I also can't vouch for any object # limits as I don't think I've ever used it to that extent.

ive never had a problem with vray_scatter and i hear multiscatter is even better and has its own paint option

Spooner:i know about advanced painter, and i have used it before... Its s great tool but not what i need here. I have decided to buy multiscatter, the client came back with revisions, they wanted the objects smaller, so i need to place Even more objects. Had a look at Forestpack too, but i felt that multiscatter fitted my needs better.
