  • How to prepare 3D pavement painting texture for print??

    Hello,
we ve been trying to elaborate how to come up with a 3D workflow which would let us prepare a "3D pavement painting texture" for a specific location for printing??

    Something like this:

We ve came up with an idea of worflow but its not 100% precise.

Are there any tutorials or hints regarding this?
    or
Is anyone familiar with such jobs???

Thanks a lot for any tips!

    Best Regards
    Martin

I'd say scan the location in question. Remodel as precisely as needed. Cameramap it. Create a proper unwrap to be able to unfold it and print in parts.

    Just a wild guess tho.

    Regards,
    Thorsten

if you want to do it in only one plane is easy....create a simple plan, set the camera eye level, set your 3d enviroment, render it out in high-res
in Photoshop open the render crop it checking perspective and scaling it up to the same proportions of the plane where is goint to be projected.
make sure if you have a vertical 3d objects, they have to be inside of the projected plane, otherwise when you correct the distortion they will be cropped....example, the 3d pole flag in max in your camera view it has to be inside of the projected area.
      show me the money!!

hmmm...its not as straightforwrd as it looks
we seem to have the biggest problems in matching the vray camera to the human eye perception.
any clue what could the settings be to match the human eye? we ve read lots of papers on it but somehow cant hit the nail on the head :-//

is it not close to 50mm? But also always adjusting, right? So how to really pinpoint that?

yeah we sort of got it around that but it just seems so hard to really capture what human eyes sees :-/
i am beginning to think that these "3D" paintings are only possible to be done by hand...nevertheless were still trying
