  • Interactive 3D options

    Hi all,

I've been asked to produce an interactive 3D model of a radio for a client. By interactive, I mean that the viewer will be able to spin it around using the mouse or keyboard. The radio itself doesn't actually do anything when buttons are pressed etc.

The end result needs to be shown on Windows PCs but not necessarily in a browser.

What are my options for creating this? I've done similar before by rendering out a 360° spin to a sequence of PNGs and compiling them in Flash, but for this project the client wants to be able to spin the model in any direction, not just sideways. Ideally the client won't need to install anything on the end PCs in order to view it, and I won't have to pay too much for software in order to create it - I've never been asked to produce anything like this before and probably won't be again.

I know so little about this kind of 3D that I don't even know what to search for in Google! I'm fairly embarrassed actually!

Thanks in advance for any help - I know this isn't really a VRay-specific question but this is one of the most helpful forums I've used so...

You could try this: Wirefusion, they have a limited free version that would do what you need, I think.

This should do the trick, check the samples to see what it can do.

I used this for a product VR and it worked really well (this was a few years back)
