  • how to find exact map (map#)

I'm getting some invalid bump map normal error in vray message window, it shows that "Map #106" is causing it, but I can't find this map. Before new material editor in max it was quite easy to find maps etc. Now I can't find option in material editor to show all used maps so I can find the buggy thing. Anyone have any tips ?

Use the new material explorer (under Rendering). In the display menu, check only Maps and Sub-Materials/Maps. Then click Display -> Expand All. Click on the Name column to list maps by name alphabetically.

This way I always put names everywhere( Stone01> Stone01_dif, Stone01_bump,Stone01_Disp,etc)..It is better spending time setting your project to save a lot time later (finding things, duplicating maps in your projects as well as your asset libraries) specially if you know that you will change a lot stuff.
