Tired of losing market share to Sketch Up?

I thought so too, but after taking a quick look it is actually competing rather with MoI than with Sketchup, as it seems nurbs. And not that bad at all for small stuff (and in limited testing)

It is not a poly modeller, nor a companion to max. It is a CAD modeller mainly targeting people wanting to have their models manufactured in many ways.
As a side effect it might (!) become a simple to use, free (!) nurbs modeller to use for small things (working booleans for example). To get things to max there's SAT, DWG, STL and STP (which is also generally widely adopted).
Using the now included nPower importers that makes it a pretty decent companion in many ways.

And for the record. .3ds should be blocked on a HDD Controller level, so noone can ever use it for anything :P

          Regards,
          Thorsten

SAT import (based on npower, seemingly licensed) was introduced in 2011 if i am not mistaken. Also includes some additional tools (like solids cutting).

Ah, I thought you meant the full npower translators.
Still, i'll have to look into that - we get rhino files fairly often now which are a nightmare to get in.

Oh wow. I just had to use this to bring in something that would've been impossible to do with meshes and its perfect. Took no time at all.

                      Thanks!
