Free Maya for personal use

Alias announced today that it will be giving away Maya for personal use and training. Not that I'm about to switch over...

Slashdot did a horrible writeup of this.

Its just the newest version of the PLE...nothing special...plugins dont work, no mental ray, can't open the saved files in real maya, has watermarking on the renderings, etc...

Yeah- they worded it incorrectly. It's a new release of the PLE. But I didn't realize that much was disabled/watermarked.
