Max 6 Bugs/Issues

Anyone have any Max 6 issues as of yet? Please post them if you do. I'm concerned mainly about plugin compatability. Also wonder if there's going to be any backwards compatability issues. I'm thinking about making the jump- but don't want to right now if there's alot of kinks to still work out.

There are non known bugs, yet.

All Plugins have to be recompiled to Max 6. So, Max 5 plugins won't work.

There is no backward compatability, so no 'save scene as'. Well, won't be possible anyway.

In terms of stability Max 6 is better than Max 5, because of many bugfixes.

Either way- it would be nice to post what works and what doesn't. I'm sure someone will come across something. I just don't feel like having to replace some of my plugs such as powerbooleans v4 which kinda works on max5... they get expensive after a while... oh well. is it really worth the upgrade if you generally dont do animations?

Powerbooleans 4? They just released an update to v2.5, where did you get 4.0? Btw the 2.5 version I have running on 5.1 sp1 seems to be working better than the previous 2.1

I meant PB for max 4... it's old and everything needs to manually be converted to meshes othewise I can get some weird hangs...

I believe that ver 2.5 of powerbooleans is avaliable for max 4.x

heheh- you got me all backwards. im on 5.1 max now- using way older plugins that shouldn't/don't work completely on 5.1. I really don't expect those to work in Max 6 but you never know.

I'm just wondering if it's worth switching over soon or am i going to encounter a significant amount of productivity loss if this is done. Hence I wrote this to see if anyone that has used it is encountering any issues so far.

Ah I see. I should be getting my max6 via subscription some time this year hopefully but Im not puting it straight into the production stream till I can test it out on a few dummy scenes.
