  • Hierarchy Skew Question

This is my second time ever working with hierarchy links. I've modeled a robot's hand. Adjusted the pivot towards the base. I've applied locks to the scale and move boxes. It only rotates along one axis which is what I need.

Now when I rotate the finger, the finger skews. Why is this and how do I work around it? What am I doing wrong? It's probably something really simple.

    Someone please help!

First unlink everything temporarily then reset XForm in the Utilities tab, collapse the stack for each object, reset the Scale and Transform via the Hierarchy tab and then relink everything. Should work fine then. This is, most likely, all due to the no-uniform scale warning you may or may not see when you use the nonuniform scale function.

        Same here

I'm pretty sure you can read a more in depth description of what's happening in the help file. Just do a search for that check box that turns it off.
