  • AutoCAD - Esc Key not working to cancel command

    Hi all

So couple of months back I came across this for the 1st time in AutoCAD 2011. You would start a command, then esc to cancel, but it wouldnt cancel the command. It seemed like an intermittant thing and was very annoying.

So now I'm on AutoCAD 2012 and new pc and still getting same problem (intermittantly). Turns out, if you have any Adobe program open at the same time that it would "disable" the esc key. Closing photoshop or whatever Adobe program you have open, solves it.

Very weird. Apparantly it is an intermittant bug and been there for years. I've just been lucky enough to only experience it the last couple of months.

So now to fix it, is Autodesk to blame? or Adobe?
    Kind Regards,
    Morne

Sounds like an Adobe thing to me. If for some reason the Adobe application is overriding/disabling keys that then affect other software. Very strange indeed since I use both a lot and have fortunately not run into this problem yet.

    Thanks for the heads up.

Our architects, also have the same problem with 2011 and 2012 and don't use any Adobe application at the same time. It's really some strange issue.

      Best regards,
