  • Dumb animation question - can you 'disable' animation?

I have a few doors and things that are animated (opening doors for instance). Is there a simple way to temporarily 'disable' the animation of these objects within Max 2009? I only need the doors to be animated in certain camera shots - not all of them.
    Kind Regards,

maybe put the doors in a layer called "animated". then duplicate them and put the duplicates in a layer called "un-animated" and delete the animation from that one

Use a Rotation List controller insted of the standard controller. It will automatically add the standard controller as first in the list. You can then turn it on/off using the weight spinner.

I've discovered Animation Layers which seem to help. Saves duplicating geometry.
