Does anyone here use just a stylus, without a mouse? I am trying to go mouse free this week, only using my stylus, so I can get comfortable drawing with it. So far, several hours into me week, I am getting pretty good. I am just curious to see if anyone just uses a stylus. I put away my huge tablet with mouse, to save desk space, and picked up a wacom Pen and Touch, which doesn't have a mouse. I put away the big intros 3, which has a mouse, because I never got in the habit of using the pen. Now that I want to draw, I don't have good control. If I force myself to use a pen for a week I might bring the intros back, which has the pressure sensitive pen. The touch is pretty nice, since I can kind of use it like a mouse. Now all I need is a desktop swip program so I can type like I do on my tablet.

so, no mouse? My Intros 3 has a mouse and a pen, but my new Bamboo has multi-touch and a pen. The only issue, so far with my Bamboo, is you don't have a pen stand. The instruction says not to use one, and you shouldn't leave the pen on the tablet, either. Other than that, I am loving it.Bobby Parker

The Windows tablet stuff really interferes with the Wacom drivers in Max, so I have it totally disabled. But disabling it causes problems with MS Silverlight, so I have a couple batch files to rename a specific file depending on if I'm using Max or streaming Netflix.- Geoff

How do you disable all those annoying features? On my desktop, photoshop would often show an arrow instead of a cursor when drawing with intuos 3. Also, i get some weird circles, and stuff. Don't have my intuos to reproduce the effects right now, but i want pretty much everything turned off.Dusan Bosnjak

Here's a thread that talks about the problem and how to solve it: http://area.autodesk.com/forum/autod...-tablet-issues- Geoff

I've been using Intuos tablets for the past 10 years or so, I got a mouse hooked up but it's stored away behind my monitor, it's only for when the tablet breaks down or I have people over who can't figure out to use a pen. I'm not doing it to learn how to draw, but a mouse gives me physical pain in my wrist which the pen doesn't.

I started to use wacom intuos 4 only for a year now and never looked back. Here's my list of things to do on windows 7 to turn off all bad stuff and use tablet stress free
CP = Control Panel
* CP > Pen and Touch > Flicks is unchecked
* Service "Tablet PC Input Service" is deactivated
* CP > Pen and Touch > Pen Options: "Press and Hold" is disabled
* CP > Programs and Features > "Turn Windows Features on and off" has "Tablet PC components" checked.
* Open Local Group Policy Editor: Run... gpedit.msc
* Navigate to User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Tablet PC > Cursor
* Enable "Turn off pen feedback"Luke Szeflinski
