  • re-linking bitmap paths

I have a series of aXYZ people that all have their (millions of) bitmaps linking to c:\aXYZ\blah blah blah.

To get DR working, I need to have the maps on my server, so I have copied all the textures there as well. How do I tell Max to relink all the bitmaps to this new location? Its not that the bitmaps are missing, but I just want to point them to a different location. I have tried Colin's Relink Bitmaps script, but I can't figure out how it would work with this situation...
    Kind Regards,

try - manage, asset tracking, select all paths to change, right-click, choose set path
not in front of max now, but that usually works...

edit: but Colin's script makes this usually unnecessary

Exit Max, rename the original folder where your aXYZ maps reside, open scene, run Relink and reassign the maps to the other location on your server.

Add all your valid bitmap paths to the 3dsmax user paths for assets/bitmaps.
Use the asset tracker...right click and chose "strip paths" for the bitmaps with wrong path.
Then it should show "found", because the images paths are cached in the user paths. Then you can chose "use absolute paths", and they will magically relink to the correct paths.
