3ds max backsaving

Hi Guys,

We currently run max 2010 in our studio. We are using some external resources on a couple of projects who plan on using 2011. I believe you can't backsave from 2011 - does anyone know if there would be any issues opening the 2011 files in 2012 and back saving to 2010 from there?? (Projects are straight forward archi interiors.)

Hi Chris - you can back save to 2010 from 2011

I have both Max 2011 and 2012 installed on my workstation here and you can save back to 2010 from 2011. You can also save back to 2010 and 2011 from Max 2012. We've not used it very often but I don't remember running into any issues. I guess if you stay away from features that were added or altered significantly in 2011 then you should be ok.

OT. I just had a look at your website and noticed you have an office in Urmston, I went to Urmston Grammar School! (a long time ago)
