  • 16bit sequence from AE with best compression

I'm looking for a way to export a 16bit sequence from After Effects CS5.5.
I need to send it over the web, so it has to be as small as possible.
Best would be lossless, or very high quality.

Right now I'm looking at compressed PNG 16bit, but the filesize is rather huge, 5mb per 1080p frame.
I guess EXR would be better, but it seems to only support 32bit.
JPEG and similar file formats can only export 8bit from AE.

Adobe Media Encoder can't export higher than 8 bit at all, as it seems.

    I'm open to any suggestions.

    thanks, Marc

Does it have to be sequence? I was thinking Quicktime with PNG compression as an option.
Really slow encoding, but for lossless compression, the file size is really small.

The file size depends of your footage of course.

    Edit:

Ah, it looks that AE can't output 16bit QT PNG. It's AE's limitation.
