When I get Revit roofs the soffit and fascia are usually part of the roof. I can turn "Ignore Backfacing" on, go to the top view, and just select the top plane, but how do I select just the vertical planes?

Possibly you could turn on select "by angle" after you have converted to editable poly. Depending on your roof type you could easily select the top and bottom faces of the roof you DON'T want (using the defaut of 45 degrees), and then press Ctrl-I to invert the selection to get the vertical faces that remain. I was thinking you could select by Sub-object ID or smoothing ID, however in my little test there were none assigned on Revit geometry imported from FBX.

Alternatively you can select one vertical face and shift-select the next vertical face along to select a loop of faces

    Hope this helps

I tried this, but it didn't work very well. I'll work in this and post back.
