  • anyone around could help me with this rig....?

over 3 days and I can't figure out one probably simple thing. Basically I need those kind of moves:

Basically I have no idea how to rig this thing so I have the ones circled with red.

I just need the stand pivot around the box like the box pivot inside the stand. It's killing me!

Also video the last part is where the problem is, it's rotating whole thing instead of just the stand (the box should sit still)

I also uploaded scene rig.zip. PLEASE HELP !

    Hi Luke,

I think this might be what you're after - http://www.moonjam.com/CG/rig01.zip

Basically, I've made it so that the microphone has it's position controlled by a helper & it's rotation controlled by another using constraint controllers.

    Hope that helps!

Ah I had similar rig in past and now I remember what the problem was:
When rotating stand the box isn't sitting correctly in hinges

        should be like this:

Ok, try this. I've wired the microphone's x rotation to one helper and its y & z to the helper for the stand.

The one problem with this setup is that it's difficult (for me at least!) to rotate every thing together, you can only really use the master control to move it around.

          Hope that makes sense?

WOw AJ I think this might work but I have no idea how did you mange to wire both Y and Z to X? I tried to do the same and can connect only one axis to one axis, not two to one. Usally when I wirew things I can see red and green connection in wire dialog but when I select your it's just bolded text and I can't see any disconnection option etc.
