  • People in animation - any good examples?

Has anyone seen any half-decent examples of architectural animation with people of late? I really don't like the RPC approach (which seems very out of date when you look at their website and I forsee many problems in using them with Vray)
    Kind Regards,
    Richard Birket

yes but green screening people is simply not an option for most people. There is actor fees etc etc. And if you change the angle of your shot, you're screwed

Whenever we've used them we've mapped them onto planes in the scene and rendered them as a pass - you can get away with a small amount of movement. not much, but if you work around it from the start and know exactly what you can/cant do before you begin then it's fine. It's the kind of thing you can discuss with a client and show costs. (inflate the one for full 3d, tell them how shit it will look)

3d people done on a budget only work at a distance. The only time we've done 3d people close up was when we had a few proper animators keying and cleaning up mocap by hand for days. Not a job I want to be anywhere near....
