It will take us some time to prepare the official update (we have to wait for the final official 3ds Max SDK just in case), but once 3ds Max 2013 is officially released we will add builds for 3ds Max 2013 to the nightly builds and we could also get them to you upon request.

        Best regards,
        Vlado

One thing Autodesk stressed, in their release event yesterday, was the rendering cloud. They are planning on expanding the rendering cloud to other application, like 3DS MAX. If they offer a free render farm, with the Mental Ray and iRay engine, it'll be a game changer.

Where can we get the nightly builds in general? Is it a thing only for beta testers? Or do we every day just re-download from the official product page on chaosgroup?
            Kind Regards,

The money they make is insane! The render farm is already available for Revit, which is part of the subscription.

There is a direct import of Revit files where one can choose which view to import, that isn't the same that was in the advantage pack, is it?

You don´t seriously believe Autodesk rents like 10k Machines and gives them away for free ?
It´s free until you like it
Also it´s not an option if you have to render classified stuff like prototypes or something as you have no longer control about your data.
The Server Autodesk uses are from Amazon and located within the USA wich also means the patriot act applies. So practically unlikely, but
theoreticaly possible the US authorities have full access to your data, wich is an absolutely no go for sensitive data. Next to that
you have no access to plugins and noone really you can talk to in case something goes wrong. The whole cloud bullshit is nothing but a huge
marketing bubble to earn more money in the long term, obviously.

I did. Going from 11 to 12 was unbelievable. A job I was on which I had to split the facade alone into 6 scenes (ground floor/first etc) and xref together just so I could pan around it now lives in one scene, with no lag kicking around 14mil polys. It's amazing and the best update max has ever had.
