360 degree city scape panoramics for exterior environments

Do you arch vis guys use 360 degree panoramics on a cylinder outside the the main building for this type of shot or just a flat plane at a window of the environment you require ?

Do you have any links to these types of images ? I've checked evermotion and hyperfocal and dosch and cannot find any city scape panos..

I've shot some custom 360's hdr's from rooftops and cranes in melbourne/australia for specific jobs.

it works pretty well with a crane, though i think it would be pretty hard to get something good from a generic one, you'd want at least one taken in the same city.
