intel has been developing these for a while. I saw them at siggraph few years ago. 64 logical cores (in that machine i saw) and 256 mb. The size of the box was your regular workstation. It was crazy loud, and now I hear they got even more cores. I think their plan is to compete with nvidia though I doubt they can get as many cores as in the video card, but they getting it high for sure.

Now that´s a lot of cores.. nice
on the other hand if you invest in barebones you´ll probably
get twice the speed for half the price
