We are currently using hamachi, but I find it a bit of a pain - got it set up and running quickly, but: it seems like it creates another network connection and it splits the network into 2, with some computers visible for some computers and some not. We had a power failure a while ago while network rendering, and all the computers stopped rendering because hamachi was offline. Even though no computer was using hamachi. I had to restart all of them to get them on the "normal" network going again and then only would they network render again.

the harddrive post previously mentioned a NAS with VPN functionality. got me wondering - is it easy to set up a VPN network? does anybody have some experience in this?

The whole logmein model confuses me. I use the logmein app, for my i-Pad, and it works flawlessly. The combo of iPad, Apple TV, and Logemein, is priceless. I can sit on my couch with my iPad, WiFi the graphics to my large screen TV, using logmein to connect to the office.
