  • Backburner Monitor over IP4 VPN

    Hi all

I have a site where they run max 2013 and the latest backburner update 2013.0.2. They setup a VPN for me to connect to their network. I can login and browse their network via the VPN.

The problem is that on my side my Backburner Monitor can't see their Manager through the VPN even if I type in the computer name or even the IP

Do I possibly have to disable IPV6 on the Backburner Manager pc so that it's forced to use IPv4?

    Any thoughts?

It sounds to me like they need to run the Monitor within the Network so you can see it working properly when you VPN in. I don't think this is a IPv6/4 issue at all - It's just that I don't think the Monitor was designed to work the way you are currently trying to use it. If everything works fine on the network prior to VPN'ing in, then things should work for you just fine.

everything works fine on the other side. If I on site run things including monitor, it works fine. Just over VPN the monitor doesnt work. Not sure why, since when connected I get a IP in same range as remote network so its asif I'm also local. I could run the monitor on a seperate pc that side and just remote desktop into it and see. I didn't want to remote desktop into the rendering pc, as I had problems in the past and worried it may crash the render as it already using maximum ram.

I'm considering trying the free Deadline version with the 2 slave option. Deadline apparently has an option where it'sa free if you run it on only 2 slaves.
So then that makes me wonder: Can I use Deadline with DR rendering like I do with Backburner. As in can I use only 1 slave of Deadline (therefore free and I dont need top purchase a license) but still that one slave DR renders using 10 computers? Can I do it like that legally with Deadline like I do with Backburner?
      Kind Regards,
