  • Deadline's Repository. Keep scene and textures also?

    Hi All

So I'm about to try out Deadline for the 1st time. Just trying to decide where to install the Repository. Does it only keep config settings, or during a job the actual scene file with all textures get saved to it also? Trying to see how much space I need and IT people wants to know how much it will influance the file server if it isnt just config files...
    Kind Regards,
    Morne

I don't think it keeps textures, but it does keep the max scene files along with some job info files. You can search here for any questions you have and also you can contact the support, they are usually pretty fast with responses.

I'm pretty sure you can set it up to keep the scene files in the original directories too.

probably so, its different for different software, since the submitter is different a bit in each one. For example in maya there is an option to send a scene file, if you don't use it, it will read from the original location (but that could be dangerous, somewhat).

Yep, there's a drop down in max to choose whether to use the file as saved in it's original location (which means don't update and save that file mid render) or three options of sending it other places, including the repository.
