  • Mouse Recommendations?

    Hi All

I need a new mouse. Currently at 1 office I have a very cheap entry level Logitech Wired mouse. It's a bit light and small even though it's not the mini version, my hands cramps up after 1 or 2 hours.
At the other office I have a Wired Microsoft mouse also entry level, but it's a bit bigger and slighlty heavier than the Logitech so I can work much longer with it.

I would like to replace the Logitech (buttons get stuck sometimes), with something newer, bigger and heavier and wired. I looked at the Cyborg Rat, it feels comfortable and nicely heavy, but man it's ugly.

Also I don't want something with 50 buttons on the side and 10 scroll wheels and that makes coffee. Normal left and right buttons with centre scroll wheel is fine. But it needs to be big and heavy.

    Recommendations?
    Kind Regards,
    Morne

I love the old style microsoft mouse, they fit perfectly into your hand and dont have that overkill of buttons. Also the middle wheel works as it should (middle click), we had those fancy mice at work some new logitec $100 ones and middle wheel would release all the time in the middle of drag and drop, soo annoying. Too bad microsoft does not make them anymore.

After trying about 10 different Logitech mice and realizing that they are all crap, I settled with a Razor DeathAdder mouse and am quite happy with it.

I'm using Logitech MX510 for ten years now and I'm very satisfied. But it's too old model.

Bigger the better, IMO. My favorite mouse ever was a Rocketfish, but they don't make that model anymore. But of course you will have no wrist problems at all if you just switch to doing as much as you can with a pen tablet.

Microsoft intellimouse Explorer v3 - 5 buttons - left side button set to show desktop - really useful - (rt side button not set to do anything)
it's fairly big and you can still find new ones on ebay
to reduce hand stress you want a light mouse as it means less hand acceleration - I agree it's a trade off

I'm super picky about my mouse. Like plastic_, I love the Death Adder by Razer. I started doing some contract work on site with a client. Their computer was set up with a Logitech M-U0007. It was a pretty good mouse, but I ordered mysel another Death Adder within a couple days.

an old Genius Mouse - the 3 button version before there were scroll wheels? The 1st boxy version hehe? It was my 1st mouse serial port and all, and I loved it untill the day it died

Looking at an image of that confused me for a minute. Very Escheresque

i just got myself a rokkat KOVA. so far its excellent. very nice feel, super precise ( its a laser jobby) not too many extra buttons but a couple of configurable ones with macros. understated looks unless you turn on the multicoloured led underlighting.
