  • Free Music vs Royalty Free vs Reproduction License etc

    Hi all

Where can I get some 100% free music to be used in commercial projects? Is there even such a thing?

I have a bunch of royalty free library music collections from various artists worldwide, however to use any of it in a commercial project I have to pay a license fee to a local body that oversees any reproduction of music. They take a small cut and in turn pay the artists. Don't get me wrong, this isnt very expensive. For a production that will be shown to a non paying audience for example it falls into the "F2" category and you pay for usage in 30 second increments.

Anyways I would like to find out if there is a way to overcome this and if I can get 100% free music from somewhere?
    Kind Regards,
    Morne
