  • renderfarm and win7 vhd

I have about 10 pc in our renderfarm and all have their own hd with win7 pro... I asked myself if it's possible to use a single vhd image on a network drive to boot all 10 machines?
I have no experience with virtual machines and drives, so I am a noob and need some ideas to make it easier to setup my machines. I tried VmWare, but there is something missing on my machines and they are not compatible...

    thanks for your ideas.

    ...and happy working

do be able to use any kind of virtual machine, you need to check your bios and make sure that option is enabled. I'm not entirely sure what its called in the bios, but if memory serves me correct on the genuine intel boards is something like "anable XD technology" or XT or something like that.
    Kind Regards,
    Morne

At work we set up the backburner manager on a virtual machine on our main server. It seems to work ok. As for rendering on one I'm not sure.
