  • 3dsmax to nuke?

    Hi all,

Just messing around and wondered if anyone has a good tutorial/script/recommendation for getting a 3ds max vray camera into nuke along with any point helpers/cards/geometry.

The max2ae script is brilliant for working in After Effects, adding green screen peeps into footage etc, but would love to do it in Nuke!

    Thanks,
    Mark

Be careful with the geometry exports though, I've found in max 2012 x64, when it exports geo to an OBJ it can make a mess of the center / pivot point of the geometry it creates, so while the function curves for the object are fine, the pivot point of the mesh that nuke loads in is in the wrong place so it creates an offset that throws your mesh out of whack. Simple solution is to select our mesh and just use file > Export selected and go to OBJ yourself and it will correct it. Not sure what export Nuke em is using but it's a bit of a lottery.

NukeEm builds a scene for you if you want it to and it is copy paste. With FBX if you want multiple components you have to construct the nuke scene yourself. It's really VERY handy.
