  • don't cast shadows - by element??

    Is this possible?

    example:
A street light pole with a glass lens that is all one object with a single multi-subobject material.
There would be a V-ray light in place. I want to be able to have only the lens not cast shadows, without having to modify the model (or detach the lens.)
Not a big deal, but on occassion this would save significant time and or tediosity (that even a real word?)

    Thanks!

You can use a VRayOverrideMtl material with a pure transparent material as a shadow material assigned to that element.

I only act like I know everything, Rogers.

      Vlado,

Thanks a lot; That sounds easy enough. I will try it out next chance I have...
