Architectural animation.. People walking how are they done..
Are they just rigged Poser models to a Biped model…?
Or is there some other way of doing it ..

Man I hate the RPC files…
Is there any other system out there?
Ok have a great day …

We made an image movie some time ago, where we used Character studio with dosch humans.
The most time consuming task was to setup the biped. ..animation was easy, even for 20-30 persons walking around.

Have a look at the first animation on the animation page of www.beyer.co.at

You could also use Motion Builder for the animated people. It is a really great app. Just setup the characters with a bone structure and skin them, then import into Motionbuilder....map a mo cap file to them and export back to max.

IMHO it is easier to do this than setup character Studio. That and the fact that I can't afford to upgrade CS to play with it more.

There is a package out that has simple modeled people and they come static and pre animated. I just cant remember the link rite now but Ill post it if I can find it. I think the package was called something like Architectural People.

          Hello yukon:

Have a look at the motion libraries from Marlin Studios.

          regards

why are people down on RPC stuff in these forums?
i've never had much problem with them, apart from the fact that they look so 'American' if you know what i mean

I think the main reason is that they [rpc's] are pre-lit so they very rarely match their environment, whereas a 3d model would contribute to and be affected by the environment.

As far as nationality I think you will be hard pressed to find better looking people, in general, than Americans. :P

but you can adjust the light level on RPC's...

yeah they do, i agree but there wearing a bit thin ..... i think .... every where you look ... Damn rpc in loads of Arch viz work (including mine) But that is what the clients want half the time so we have no chioce, in a way it would be better to use low-poly models like this one.

                      some nice stuff here

                        thanks for the link natty

yeah, they do look pretty good actually.... and at least there are some more 'interesting' looking people than with the RPC's

somewhat less sterile if you get my meaning...

great joke. americans are the fattest people in the world, thats fore sure.
never saw more fat people then on my USA vacations.

of course you see good looking humans in california.

but the vaste majority is not what i call good looking.

                          even the animals are fat.

btw: is there a RPC "fat people" ?
