good monitor for accurate display

Hello Guys,
After a long wait.. finally i have enough funds to go for a new assembled PC. I have picked up config from evermotion.com article.. i.e. I-7, 3930k Intel Processor, Asus P9X79 PRO motherboard & Geforce 660Ti Graphic board. I dont have a big budget so i think above mentioned is best what i can get in my budget or 2k.
Apart of this , i am also looking forward to replace my existing monitor. I am currently using Viewsonic VA1918wm .. i am not very happy with this monitor as colours look different from different angles.I want that what i see on monitor is close to what i get in print.. I have seen some monitor shows very Vibrant & rich colours but output in print looks very dull.. Im not looking for very expensive monitors but decent enough for arch viz field. My plan is to use this new computer with old one via KVM switch. Also just curious if NAS drive like Seagate is good to store resources for network rendering? Is it fast enough.. i am planning to connect it with Belkin router for accessing data on both computers. Any suggestions to improve this little setup as a part of my expansion? Thanks!

According to my Spyder Elite calibrator, my 6-year-old, $400 (at the time) Dell monitor gets near-perfect sRGB color -after calibration.

+1 for the Dell monitors. I have the Dell 3008wfp and a 3011wfp, they are both fantastic compared to anything else I've used in the past. They both get very close to the Adobe RGB color gamut so are great for Photoshop work.

Well, as we are in graphics business monitor quality and color reproduction is crucial. I would invest in monitor that allow you to have hardware calibration, Eizo SX, CG or NEC PA series.

It's (e)IPS so the viewing angles are excellent. It's sharp and vivid. It's 16:10 so you get good vertical resolution. And it rotates to portrait.
Calibrates well with a Spyder.
I'm very pleased with it.

We're on a mix of dell's and hp's
Both are very good - I think they use the same lcd panels too.

2nd on calibrating the monitor. I have the 2412 as well and am really happy with it. Color reproduction was pretty good out of the box but much better after I calibrated. I used both a gretag macbeth/xrite i1 Display and a colormonkey for calibration. I had borrowed the colormonkey because it supports matching dual monitors a little better (I also have a dell 2407) but they were pretty close with the i1.

I ended up getting a U2410 from Amazon, and I love it. The U2412M was close runner-up, btw.
