I am not one to really get into hardware reviews etc, but this situation has really pissed me off and wanted to share so other here could hopefully avoid the same waste of major cash
I bought a new Cintiq a month or two ago and opted for the Touch. I should have known better since there were problem even with the demo unit and and my reseller really didn't seem to know what was going on, or actually care much, but it turned out to be much worse than I anticipated. Anyway, I *love* my Cintiq 21 (I have had 2 so far) and the Cintiq format is a great way to work - but the Touch functionality adds $1000 (Canadian) to the unit and it basically needs to be turned off at all times.
I'm running Windows 8, and from what I have heard it works at least somewhat better on a Mac, but to date the integration is pitiful. Useless (literally) in Photoshop, useless in Max, and it doesn't even work well with the OS or web browsing. I literally have to leave it turned off virtually all the time to avoid problems.
Support from my reseller was zero, and from Wacom has been poor. I have dealt with a few people there now and after they all get through making me reinstall the same drivers over and over again they come around to saying the same things.
1) It's new tech so we are still working out the kinks
2) Software vendors have to build in better support.
3) Have you tried Painter?
So yeah, not much in the way of support.
Anyway, I hope it gets better developed, but for anyone out there considering the purchase I would suggest you steer clear for now.
