Scene slow to open and save Max2013

Hi guys,
Ive got a scene that for some reason takes an age to open, save and reset from, 10 min 12secs ,Just timed it!! The file size isn't that big either, 55mb.
the strange thing is if I delete every thing from the file and save that its still the same yet the file size drops to an expected 90kb.
Ive tried merging to a new scene and the cleaner script, nothing helps.

I wondering anyone here has had this or knows a solution or something to try??
I can upload a stripped copy of the file if anyone would like to have a look.

try to delete notetrack
there are quite afew workarounds on the area forum when you search for this issue.

Fixed, It turned out do be something to do with retimers what ever they are.. Anyway thanks Martin for pointing me in the right direction.
