Who owns the word V-Ray? symantec is using it to describe virtualization.
We own the trademark and we've been through some fights with Symantec who tried to register it too - so far, unsuccessfully. We don't have resources to go after them for the actual usage of the word though, even though they know that using it is illegal.

We had a local Pizza franchise with the same name as an international Hotel/Casino. I can't remember the details as it was a long time ago but it was something like the pizza place was forced to change their name.
The pizza place's marketing people however took advantage of this and launched a very successful add campaign "We're so cheap, we can't even keep our name"
