  • Marvelous Designer - which license?

Does anyone have Marvelous Designer license? I'm not sure if I can buy Personal License for 200$ and use it for commercial work to make bed sheets, pillows and than export it to max? Is it legal ? Or I need to buy 600$ Small Business license to do that?

from my understanding you have to take the 600$ licence if you want to sell the model itself. What we want to do is just take nice pictures from models we did. So I guess for using md to enhance our projects we just need the private licence.
But thats just a guess =)

so if we just sell render without giving client model we're okay with 200$ license? Only if we decide to sell models (even than they are not in marvelous designer format but in max) on turbosquid etc than we need 600$ ?

We are just about to make a purchase of this software. I've been using the trial for the last month and it really is quite good. I'm pretty sure everything it does can be done in Max natively but I've never had much luck that way.

Theoretically it could but Max's cloth is no way near as robust as MD. I've had a good few days to play with the demo recently and it is absolutely incredible. I've been messing around with cloth sims since Stitch about 13 years ago and being able to interact with multi-layered cloth in real time just blows my mind.

Another reason to buy the more expensive license is that it comes with the Animation plugins, which will give you the ability to transfer animation from Max to MD for the avatar via point cache.
