  • Remote Desktop for your Mobile Phone

    Hi all

What app do you recommend for this? Splashtop 2 looks interesting. Not sure why version 2 is free, and you have to pay for the 1st version on Android.

Also, how does it affect things if you connect while rendering? Windows Remote Desktop is useless as it logs you off locally when log in remotely.
    Kind Regards,
    Morne

We use Logmein, it's incredibly solid although this is using the iOS apps.

I realise this is probably over-sharing but I still get a kick out of turning on all the machines at work from my bathroom at home

      LOL.

I use Logmein too. The IOS app is called Ignition. Very good in general. Only problem is when my machine at work crashes - you can't remote boot my machine (I think I spec'd the wrong CPU or something?!?)

Another chap in the studio uses Teamviewer.

I use logmein on both Andriod and IOS, and both work great. PC to PC I have been using Chrome's Remote Desktop, which is very easy to use.

WinVNC on my pc and mochaVNC on android. All free. Maybe I'm too cheap though.

I used to use iTeleport because it handled 2560x1600 very smoothly, but with dynamic IP it takes a lot of fiddling to get it to work. So I now use Teamviewer, which is flawless, really. Very solid, quite fast and handles the high res with ease.
