I'd like to see the actual game Very often these demos look great, but the final game is nowhere close...
Best regards,
Vlado
Yeah true but that's normally because the publisher will insist it runs on older hardware and consoles, and is thus ruthlessly optimised without the cutting edge hardware in mind. Best bit is the quality is scalable via the artists hands....that demo was made specifically for and run on a GTX 680 afaik not a gaystation3.
I don't think that demo was done in real time.... If you check other videos in YouTube about the same engine they look very different from that demo.
The description says that but it looks like those 100% natural juices ads with 10% real fruit.
I was way more impressed by the MGS Videos to be honest. I prefer the look there. And the Behind-The scenes video showing the night scenes in bright day pushes away a bunch of "yeah sure, just hide it in the dark" concerns heh.

Agreed the Japanese may well have their first competitive tech in this area - Fox looks promising and Square Enix luminous engine even more potential potentially - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MmaotBON9NM
What I will say about the U4 demo is that it shows a very mature and established set of tools for artists, that is to be expected for the industry leader. The luminous demo took a year to make and the Fox stuff looks fledgling too.
All exciting stuff in the world of rasta-man engines though

Or if it is, controls and inputs lag like hell, starting from the mouse cursor onwards.
I suppose there is so much time in a few microseconds to process it all ^^
Oh i have no doubt about that!
What i meant is that demos with limited interaction, no ik/ancillary systems, or inputs WILL definitely run more and quicker within the same computational budget.
When it comes to adding the rest of the code, to make a game playable, well, some concessions have historically been made to the swanky demo looks...
Ahahah, that too, you're right!
Somehow swooping freely in a dreamlike fashion over the landscapes is a heck of a lot more interesting than walking them with eyes 5 feet off the ground...
