27 inch monitor

Hi there,

My apple 30 inch display has just completely failed so I need to get another monitor. I'm looking to get a 27" monitor now as the price difference between that size and 30" monitors is quite high.

I'm looking at:

NEC
HP or
DELL

I just wondered if anyone had any advice regarding any of these makes about a monitor that has an accurate, bright and clear image. If possible it would be good to have a low response rate as I do play games occasionally.

Thanks for the link. I have a spyder calibration tool so hopefully this will sort the preset issues that the review mentions. There are so many monitors to choose from but these Dell monitors seem pretty good overall.

I have Dell... 7 year old or so... Its just as good as I bought it 7 years ago so DELL is the man

+1 for the DELL Monitor. Using 3 of them and they are pretty good.

One Dell U2410 and a dell 2007WFP. Both are very good, especially the U2410...

Been using the Dell 2709W 27 inch UltraSharp Widescreen Digital Flat Panel since 2009, never had any problems with it. At home I have a 27" Apple Cinema which has more resolution but bit more expensive, and the reflective screen can be depending on the lighting on the room. Good experience with the Dell's though, and good pricing.

I actually just did a search on google and found this site: http://www.pcbuyit.co.uk/dell-ultras...ck-p-2126.html where they are selling for £522.00. Looks like these are getting harder to find as they are actually getting a bit old now. I did get mine from Amazon in the end. Really should have looked around a bit more. I think I trust Amazon. They have been great in the past when I've had problems.

+1 for amazon...especially prime. Anyway, I ordered a U2410 from some ebay place and it was supposed to be refurbished, but it arrived with a very defective screen. so, back it went. I kicked myself for trying to save and should have bought the unopened new one from amazon from the start. It was also free fast shipping...Anyway, it probably is known already, but I would avoid such purchases on fleabay.
