was wondering if anyone had experience with these pads...what they liked about them or didn't. They seem to be essential to anyone doing digital painting for a living.

Love them as a workflow tool but they are far from awesome with Windows 8. The touch is useless, literally. I have it turned off 99% of the time. Waste of 1K.

Support from Wacom on the many issues with w8 has been poor.

When you say the "touch", I assume you mean this one... http://www.wacom.com/en/products/pen...tiq-22hd-touch
And...what paint program do you use? Corel's or Adobe's?

no, the 24HD touch. I use Photoshop. Everything works fine in Photoshop except for touch. Pretty much every other program has issues with either touch or the pen itself.

I run cintiq 21UX from 5 years ago... It is still EPIC. I didnt manage to scratch the screen for 3 years or so... then it given up. I love it use it for a lot of stuff... Great tool massive live and time saver. HOWEVER the colours are a bit off however mine is around 5y old now so maybe the new ones got better LCD... Buy it and love it.

I scratched the crap out of 2 different 21UX models. YOu must have much lighter hands than me. Colour accuracy is not bad, screen resolution/sharpness is not great, but as a workflow tool it is amazing.

It's true. I can't work without my sterling silver skull rings on.

My concern with non-Wacom products was colour fidelity in the screens. I couldn't find one to actually check out anywhere and there was almost no info on that. Has to be reasonably calibrated to be of any use to me at all and those other ones were making me nervous.
