    You somehow need to fill a volume with lost of spaghetti squiggles.

    I read a tutorial a while ago about doing this with particles. Will see if I can dig it out.

          Also check the "WireBundler" Script from Neil Blevins. It´s included in the soulburnScripts. This may help you.

                Ivy generator isn't a bad idea for this, though you will always end up with a concentration of wires at one point in the person mesh (e.g. the feet). I had a quick look at the Soulburn script idea but couldn't figure out how to 'wrap' a low-poly person model with wires.

                  got something figured out with the wire bundler script.
                  works quite well.
                  we cut sections through the model, and then used these with the bundler script.

                    I've been having a play around with the ivy script, but seem to only be able to create swamp monsters.
