What's the fastest way to make a video smaller? I have 7 - 2Gb files, to seam together, and put on a disk. I am currently using QuickTime, but it's taking way to long. I have After Effects, but I am not sure of a way to easily make a video smaller in it. I also have TMPGEnc, but it's just as slow.

Do you want to keep the original resolution but just make the file size smaller? In a nutshell it has to be re-encoded, which means some time. VLC for example will take about 10 to 25 minutes per 2GB file if you re-encode it to H.264 mp4 files, depending on your CPU

VLC has an option to "keep original video" and "keep original audio" so then it "keeps" the existing encoding but repacking it into a different container, that goes VERY Quick. But this option only saves you a little bit of file size. Option1 is better
