No magic of course, all is predetermined/prerendered (it's why you need robots to move the screens and the camera). It wouldn't work in stereo, or if you were looking from another view point, unless perhaps, if you are sufficiently far away... But still, impressive

No tracking involved, technocranes take animation input from .fbx files. They're incredibly easy to work with (given some back & forth/making sure you're not giving it a movement it cant do), albiet horrifically expensive to rent.
I doubt this was all that difficult to produce - it's just playing into the strengths of a setup most people would never get near.Last edited by Neilg; 26-09-2013, 12:43 PM.

i saw a comment somewhere else about this, there is no real reason (apart from the stuff projected on the floor) they couldnt have used lcd screens instead of camera mapped projection. obviously wanging around 60 inch tvs on a robot arm instead of a piece of foamboard might be an issue.. and also, i guess viewing angles might have been a problem. hmm. maybe projection was the way to go

so i actually decided to check the website.
the film is promoting the abilities of the robots..

badass.
strangely no prices i can see though.
