  • Error retrieving configuration file

Not sure if this is related to vray, solidrocks or just max2013, but I am just trying to use SR to render an animation. I have calculated the LC and the Irmap, but when I try to submit the frames to backburner (having the BB button in SR checked), I get an error message:-

    3ds max Job Assignment Dialog
    Error retrieving configuration file.

    Any ideas?
    Kind Regards,

Has it worked before with your current hardware and software setup? Which version of backburner is this?

I don't think we have used BB since using Max2013.

I have a feeling it might be because the backburner folder is set to read only. I have tried changing it to NOT read only by right-clicking and going to properties, but it doesn't let me. All files within the folder are read/write - its just the folder that is read only.

      Any ideas?

Which version are you having issues with? 2014 or 2013? In the OP you stated issues with 2013, yet in the last post BB worked in 2013.

My local backburner folder is write-only. So I don't think that is the issue.

Have you sent a generic BB job to the machines without using any plug-ins or scripts? That can cause issues.

Thanks for your advice guys. Uninstall/reinstall was the solution. I thought computers are supposed to be based on 1s and 0s. Mine seem to be based on 1s, 0s and ?s
