  • Backburner versions - which to stick with?

We have, up until now, only had success by installing the old (200 version of Backburner across our network. We are using Max 2013 at the moment, but we are shortly to be upgrading to Max 2014. Must I still uninstall the backburner that comes with this, and go back to 2008?

Related to this, our systems are mainly W7x64, but some are XP64. Recent updates/versions have installed IPv6 in addition to IPv4. Is the general concensus that we should disable IPv6 entirely in order for Backburner and distributed render success?
    Kind Regards,

We are running Max 2014 w/ Backburner 2014. We are running an IPv4 network. Manager machine is our main file server, IPv6 is disabled on this server. The frames server also has IPv6 disabled. Servers are running Windows Server 2008 64bit, workstations / nodes are all Windows 7 x64. I have been using this setup since sometime in May.

Other than a couple of strange error messages that pop-up, they don't prevent anything from working. Running 10 workstations with 32 nodes. I don't do much DR rendering here, just easier to sent it to the farm and wait. Most of our work lately has been animation so very few hi-res renderings. I haven't used Backburner 2008 in a LONG time. :/
