  • monitor adjustments

    Hi,

I'm having big troubles with my monitor settings. I started playing with the settings and with the adobe gamma thing. But now I'm completely lost and don't know how my monitor displays brightness and contrast etc compared to other screens. I think I'm making my renders too light now, i don't know.

How can i set up my display properties so that I know my colors and brightness and so on are correct, so they compare +- to most of the other displays?

I have a mitsubishi 2070SB, I can adjust more than I ever wanted too...

Anyone has tips for me on this matter? How do you set up your display?

    Thanks,

    flipside

hello guys, hey flipside... did you solve your problem at gamma adjusts? i bought a new monitor and was felling some dificulty to calibrate it... i can see thing right on there, but when i open the same image at another computer and monitor, it looks pale. im using 2.2 of gamma on max. what should be wrong so? when i save images , i put the same value for gama.
somebody has any tip to use a correct gamma adjust?

    thanks

How is that Mitsubishi? I'm considering buying one, though the idea of having those two wires running across the screen is a bit disturbing to me (currently have a 19" shadow mask type). Hopefully they aren't too noticeable.

By the way, if you own an ATI card and use their Catalyst drivers, note that version 4.2/4.3/4.4 breaks Adobe Gamma and other apps that do the same function. ATI recently acknowledged this problem on their site (finally) and from the sounds of it don't care about graphics professionals, only gamers. Makes me wonder if they realize just how many people who own their cards fall into the graphic artist category and would happily move to another brand name in the future if required to do so.

By the way, if calibrating/profling your monitor is really important, you might want to consider one of those sensors. I use an Gretag Eye Display and am quite happy with it (for my photography). Have heard good things about the Spyder as well.
