  • Clumping Particles

I have a stream of particles (spheres) and I would like to be able to stop one or two on a specific frame, and make any particle that touches them stop the moment it touches them, and stop any particle that touches those, etc., piling up, creating a clump. Is this doable?

It would also be acceptable if I could stop them by hand as needed and not worry about collisions.

    Thanks!

If it's only pflow, I'd be inclined to set up your first system with the spheres, make them stop as you wish and then place a sphere deflector in the area where they stop. Make a second pflow system which has all of the sphere deflectors as collision objects which move your particles into a stop event which uses a keep apart event - that's designed to push particles away from each other but used with negative values to make them clump. Otherwise you're looking at some of the glue effects in particle flow box#2 which you should have built in if you're on max 2014.
