  • Production-ready Plants & trees collections for Maya/vray?

    Hi there!
Are there any good plants and/or trees collections for vray/maya available? I mean - out-of-the-box-ready-to-go-stuff in a decent quality? Maybe even animated?

I did some stuff with plant before, but usually we bought some models, did all the shader work etc. by ourself, exported them to proxies and then used those proxies.
Or I went with PFX, converted them, did the shading, etc...
But I have a strong feeling that I don't need to do this at all So, if someone could give a hint or recommendation I'd be very happy!

    Thanks!

there is a collection over at CGAxis, but in my opinion they don't look particularly real in the demonstration images; so may require a bit of tweaking. I don't own them so haven't tried myself, but am about to buy them (they have a sale on right now)

heh, just tried them out. They're pretty basic. Gonna have to go through them all and set up proper 2sided materials. Great. As is, they look like fake plastic trees.

Also, by default, the the file node in the materials' opacity slot has 'filtering' enabled. In V-ray for Maya, this should be disabled.

I guess the models and textures are decent, but overall, not impressed.

I usually use my old evermotion and other tree collections. They never did were properly set up to my scenes so I had to redo them anyway. But as to ready finish straight for maya models - nope sorry.

I heard that xfrog is planning a maya vray version of their libraries.
